It gets dark early and after today it well get dark a hour earlier, I had to pull out my Soft Light.
Painted the Salt Block with Grape Seed Oil
One at a time I grilled them skin side down for 3-min. @ 550*.
Then turned it over for 2-min. on the other side.
Served with Baked Yam and Soyatash. This was another wonderful meal

Very nice Ross this is another innovation just wondering how does it compare in taste to the planked alternative?
-
Hey Ross,
Nice looking salmon.I bought a couple of salt blocks and have yet to try them.Do you think the salt blocks add much flavor?
How long did you preheat them? -
Ross,
Soft box? Going high tech on us I see. Not much to say as it is another of your specials.

I have been wanting one of those blocks of salt real bad and you are not making it any easier.
That looked great.
What I would like to do is preheat one of the 2" thick blocks, to about 600 and then set it on the table to cook appetizers. -
Looks great Ross... Does it gain any salt flavor from the block?

Okay looks like a nice idea, but; They are expensive just like the planks so i'm wondering if it's so Much better than the alternatives vs the cost? Surely you can't clean them well enough for reuse.Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241
