Pic Intensive My Assembly Large BGE
Beaker
Posts: 293
Greetings to the BGE community!! Hey all, well...I have wanted for several months a BGE, finally said "what the hay" and went to my local ACE Hardware and loaded up! The manager there took great care of me, discounts, free bag of BGE lump, etc...Here are some pics of the assembly, took a total of 2 hours from start (unpacking) to finish (wheeled it into the back yard). I have cooked several times on it now, ribs, shrimp, salmon, burgers, jalapeno poppers...some pics attached...LOVE this thing...a friend does BBQ competitively on a FAST EDDIE and now he is talking about getting one! Ha!

welcome aboard, and quit beating yourself up for not buying sooner. Think of now forward. Nice pics, have fun. I read that you wheeled the egg to the backyard. Remember to always pull towards you and not push it. If it starts to go over you have more control pulling, and a good chance you can save it from the fall. :silly:

BKR's BGEgger, Great post. Welcome there is a lot going on here you will love this place. Tim
I do have a friendly suggestion. Once you get comfortably posting pic's consider posting a pic then hit the enter key and continue posting pic's down instead of across. That way we only have to scroll down to see your post and pic's. -
Welcome! It looks like Christmas came a tad early :P

Sweet first post, welcome to the cult. Looks like you jumped right in with both feet :woohoo:
After using fire starter cubes, oil soaked paper towel and propane torch (haven't tried MAPP yet but not planning to), electric starter is now my favourite. Just make sure you watch it like a hawk and don't get distracted, or you could end up with the plastic handle fused to the gasket!

welcome aboard! Something I noticed were your jalapenos - complete with veins and some seeds still in place and you were fixing them barehanded! You must be one tough dude!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.
