1st Prime Rib

This was about a 9.5 pounder. I did an intense sear on the front end for a few minutes, then let it sit for about 15 - 20 mins. Then, I cooked it for about 3 hrs @ 350 to an internal temperature of 126. One of the mistakes I made was waiting almost an hr. before cutting it. We were eating the crabcakes, and hanging out while the prime rib was resting. It would have been better to wait only 20 mins. instead. I like prime rib med rare, more on the rare side. This was mostly medium. It had an incredible flavor though. By the time I finished cutting it, juice was flowing off my cutting board. Here is a picture.

I spoke to Chris from Dizzy Pig earlier in the week, and he "coached" me on cooking the prime rib. I used some of his Cow lick rub, and some additional sea salt for the crust.
