Like a lot of others on this board I wasn't in Atlanta this weekend and based on posts made by other regulars here I even "kinda" kept score. I did see one pix of drbbq so I know he showed, plus Mr Toad and of course the North Georgia Eggers were well represented, but what happened to Chris and the Dizzy Pig crew? No show after all or are those boys still in party mode somewhere?
And lastly...was the number of this event (13) something that held people back? The avoidance of that number has been a long time observation of mine. Just sayin - you know...

Yes Chris was there as I talked to him Fri PM. Think they got near vidalia1 for the after party sat, but not sure as we hit the road at 2 pm and got back to Melboooring Fl 9:30 Sat pm. Great fest and wonderful roup of folks as always, just hard to smooze 'cause so large. Heard 3000-4000 folks, really don't know.

I took a picture of Chris' 50th birthday cake...does that count???? What ever the reason people stayed away they missed a great fest...Hopefully next years number doesn't keep them away. This is a keeper venue....

I got some pics just trying to download tiny pics fast load now What does everybody else use? It takes several minutes to download 1 pic, much less look at all the pics, put in a folder........

#1-the economy
#2-Different venue
I was WAY apprehensive when I saw NO LIMIT!on attendees
The last year one was outta hand for me.Too many RUDE guests! :(
If you did'nt have a camper,you were out.No shuttle,no host hotel afterparty.FUGGETABOUTIT! :( -
Spring Hen and I talked about driving over to Atlanta for the fest but I suddenly had a sack full of gallstones that needed attending to. I was still recovering on Saturday.
First one we missed in seven years. But the crowd looked like they had a good time without us.

Everybody parked at the fest, right outside the garage gate on the infield of AMS (camper, hotel or drive in from Atl). No lugging cooking stuff on or off a shuttle. It was a win-win.

Some had good excuses, some had bad excuses and some had no excuse
It was a great fest (as expected) -
Cool,glad to hear it worked!

Work for us here :( gotta have the $$ to pay to play. Plus we are headed south a month sooner this year so that bites into the $$ also :( at almost double the numbers from last year I think our spots were filled and then some! LOL glad the weather was so great! that is one thing that you just cant control!

Hoss,
With this large venue there was no mad crush of people and everything was very orderly. You can't use that excuse next year ...See you there next year... :P -
The size of the venue kept the large number of attendees not turn into a crush (other than the line for the beer). We'll also really appreciate the site when we have our next rainy/wet 'Fest as we won't be cooking in mud. There is more fine tuning required, but I'm on board for this to be the permanent home.

 I hope SO!

I agree John...maybe next time I will even give you some Marsetti...oops my bad... :P
-
Get better soon and we hope you guys start a new streak next year.

I saw some pics of the dizzy pig tent. And I believe there was a photo of a birthday cake for Chris. Or maybe that was a different event...
-
I ended up making it late in the day and actually worked for Chris in the Dizzy Pig Booth.
The pictures of Chrises Birthday Cake was from the After Party. I ended up cooking my roasted bacon.
I am glad that I did get there.
