OK, so it has been a long weekend and I got to hang out with Smoky B (Graham). We competed in Huntsville at the Locust Grove BBQ cookoff yesterday. It was a shadetree competition with ribs, chicken and pork. It was a first for us and the day ended up pretty amazing. There were 15 teams and we placed 1st in each category and took home the GC, all on BGE's. Here is a pic of me and Graham with my 2 boys and the pastor of the church who sponsored the cookoff.
All I can say is I slept about 13 hours last night and felt like I needed more, I was whipped and I know Graham was pretty tired. Hopefully he will chime in later.

This is one pic that Tania took right after the awards were over. The boys were excited. Graham and I were just shaking our heads and said "what the heck just happened". The guy in the orange shirt was the 2nd place team and came right up to congratulate us. He is good friends with a family that plays ball with us. That family also came out to see both teams and watch the awards. Graham's wife came out for a while and his FIL was a big help. It was just a great family time.

So what do you call your team?? and so cool to see the boys involved! they are the future of it all!

The team is "Legal Grilling Society". It is something Graham came up with while in Law School years ago. I will let him explain (because I will probably get it wrong)

Must have been the shirt that did it
Congrats Gene great job by you and your crew -
I got hazed yesterday by the Alabama fans. To make it worse, a friend of mine who runs an epuipment rental place let us borrow a stronger canopy. It was orange and blue. At first I was accused of being an Auburn fan (the shame of it) and then just outright harassed as a Gator . Well, not THAT bad :silly:

WOW! Congratulations. Your boys look like they had the time of their life too.
And you could have taken First in Cornbread if'n they had it on the venue.
