When I use my thermapen

I use it when I'm deep frying, I can go at 375 reheat to 375 and go again perfectly every time.
I use it when I'm binging something up to a simmer, quick heat to 185 slow down to 195 and simmer.
I use it to take my kids temperature, under the tongue (they do it themselves so it doesn't poke)
Of course I use it any time I'm cooking meat, poultry, seafood or potatoes.
I use it when I want to know the temperature outside.
I use it when I want to know if anything not on the list above is cooked through.
It is absolutely the most useful kitchen device I have ever used. I use it more than I use my stove or my Egg.
Just sayin'

Doug,
We should keep this list going, and mollyshark can put it in her signature :woohoo:
...measuring water temp before adding to aquarium
...measure milk temp when rising and falling, for yogurt making
btw, don't you measure water temp when brewing coffee?

Yes I do use it when I'm making coffee in the vac pot, not in the espresso it has a PID that does that work for me.
Doug -
I was a little apprehensive about sticking mine into hot deep fry oil, but it is wiithin the range specified. The probe sure stays hot for what seems like a long time after pulling out.

Used it to check the temps in my pool

I use it to check the temperature coming out of my air conditioning vent - is it hot in here, or is it just ME?
It reads 66 degrees.

Is 66 degrees "just me"?

66, damn I would need a very heavy fur lined coat. It was 97 in my place the other night. :woohoo: And I loved it. :silly:  :woohoo:
Tis my season here in the valley of the sun.
Enjoy,
Bordello
I like it hot -
Ron,
I've had my 'original' to just over 1,400* :pinch: :woohoo:
Still rock solid, within a degree of the new one and the maveric. :P
I don't recommend it tho :silly: -
I stick the thermapen in the vent after I ask the question "is it hot in here?", just to check if the a/c is broken, or if I am just hot!! I got a new coil recently and the a/c guy told me the temp out of the vent should be 66 degrees.

Faith,
I also put it on my thermostat to see if it was even close.
