My parents bought me for my birthday and CI skillet. It's a 12" very heavy nice one. I have a lg egg and I think it might be too big. When I set it on and try to close the lid the handle hits. Should I get a smaller one or keep that one? Didn't know if you closed the lid when using a skillet or not. Never used one yet.

I believe I would trim the handle so it will fit in the egg. Sometimes you need to close the dome.

Sometimes that nice big skillet is very useful in the egg, blackening fish, pinapple upsidedown cake, lots of stuff. I would just trim the handle enough to make it fit. Easy Peasy with a sawsall and a metal cutting blade

I have not found the need to close the lid on my ci skillet...these are typically very hot cooks that require eyes.Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241
