My BGE thermometer is dead, it actually got bent and cracked.
I live in the sticks and cant get a replacement today, can I use a remote instant read and put the probe in through the dome hole, or can I mount it some other way?

Yup, you sure can. Or, leave the BGE thermometer in and go between the dome and base and clip to the BGE thermometer. Or, read at grate level.

I do it all the time with my cheapo remote thermometer It works great for keeping up with the egg temp while doing other things around the house.
