    i was just finding it ironic.

    wess was giving you grief because you had a problem with folks using a particular word/phrase. he was saying your reaction was out of proportion to the offense, because the meaning of the phrase had nothing to do with it, and that it was not how the people were using it.

    just reminded me of the ping thing. ...getting mad if folks use it, regardless of the meaning of the word :whistle:

    perhaps i pushed it too far.

    i didn't make it an intellectual argument, for the record. just because i try to explain myself clearly doesn't mean i'm trying to browbeat or be intellectual.

    i posted a lot of stuff yesterday, helped a couple people understand some stuff about one of the cooks or things i was doing... so maybe i was just perturbed that he'd ignore all that effort and instead spend the time to go after me simply because i said i agreed with you on the point you were making.

    the phrase didnt bother me, but you have to understand the target audiance here as well, its not a hardcore bbq forum of tough old grumpy guys, the group is very diverse, i might get a chuckle out of it, but i wouldnt explain the meaning of that phrase to my grandmother after she got out of sunday mass and to some, thats what you did :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

    maybe i'm an oddball. but i don't think it is strange at all to be able to have a bit of verbal fisticuffs with someone, and then later on carry on a perfectly normal conversation with them about something else.
