Beef Jerky

Cooked some Beef Jerky this morning started about 8:00 am this morning,set temperature at 180 degrees,used place setter with legs up position cooking on the grill with indirect heat,temperature did climb once the charcoal all started to 240 degrees then leveled off.
Removed from BGE at 1:00 pm,tasted just fine !

    One of my favorite treats is a good homemade beef jerky and sharp cheddar cheese chunks with your favorite adult beverage :P

    Think the cut of meat was an eye round roast, cost was only $5.95.

    Ingredients were 2/3 cup of Kikkoman soy sauce
    2/3 cup of Lea & Perrins Worchestershire Sauce
    1 teaspoon garlic Powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    2 teaspoons Lawry's seasoning salt
    1 small hot red pepper cut into fine pieces

    Cut meat in strips with the grain of meat.
    Let marinate in mixture over night.

    Last step save marinate mixsture add a table spoon of brown sugar stir in it.
    After 3 hours of cooking brush on the mixture and turn the strips over.
    I cooked mine 5 hours brushed it one more time.
    Cook time depend on thickness of strips,I did not want mine to be dried completely out.
    My girl friend loved it.
