back to a normal week, how wonderful

I for one, probably the only one, am happy to be getting back to a normal schedule. It's been a wild two weeks. Only egging was two quick cooks, steaks and the pizza pictured.
Thanks to Chubby for hanging out with me in Houston, it was a welcome break.
I have a 3 pack of bbacks in the fridge with a sale date of today. Anybody know how much longer I have before I need to smoke 'em or freeze 'em. thanks,

Hi tjv,
First, that pie looks to die for!
If the bbacks are cryovaced good and tight I wouldn't start to worry. If not I would start making plans for them in the next 2 or 3 days. I am no expert on food handling read this post at your own risk.
I'd be happy to get back to a any schedule if it would warm up 20 degrees. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I got some from SAMs that went south the day before the sell by date. I cut into the package and almost fell over. Stunk up the house for a little while. I took them back.
Also had some lamb racks with the same issue. Both happened over the holidays. -
I got these at costco, but I'm firing up the lump right now to smoke 'em for dinner tonight.

Good idea to cook them asap. I bought some spares at Costco a while back that were bad before the sell by date. Took the wrapper back and they gave me a refund, no questions asked. Bottom line is that you don't want to mess around with chicken and pork getting old. Good thing is you can usually tell they have passed their peak when you open the package. Phew.
