I received a cast iron grid for Christmas for the large BGE and it came with no guidance on seasoning. Any recommendations on techniques?
Thanks!
Thanks!

no need to season unless you just want to...Put it on and cook away. Makes beautiful grill marks!

I seasoned mine, I don't know if you need to or not, I rubbed it down with shortening and cooked it on the egg for about an hour at 450....

I don't believe it's necessary, would just burn off at high temps that close to the burning lump anyway.

I didn't season it at all. You should look into buying the third hand. I just got mine, and I don't know how I lived without it!

Third hand?

When I bought my CI from the BGE dealer, he said no seasoning required, just use it as is. Good luck.
