Multiple Pork Butts

I have smoked a number of pork butts but I have never done multiple ones at the same time. Is cooking two 8 lbs butts the same as one 16 lb butt, time wise, or will it generally take somewhere in between?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If the butts are sufficiently seperated, they will cook at the same rate as if they were single.

Thats correct, if they arent touching the cook time will be like only one is on the grill.
-
Even if they are touching at the beginning they will cook separately.
As they cook they will shrink and separate anyway.
Stick your probe in the smaller one. -
Great! Thanks!

Logic says they will cook the same as a single 8 lb butt. Think of it as if you put each 8 lb butt in a different EGG, would they cook as a 16 lb butt? The total weight is the same no matter what way you cook them.
