Porcelain Coated Grid - chipped

Hi all,
When lifting my XL BGE Porcelain Coated Grid, I noticed that one of the bars had some Porcelain chip off the bar. Has this happen to anyone else? Will it still be OK the cook on since it could continue the chip off and get into food? Can this be repair? If so, how?
Thanks

has thinking of putting foil over chip area. anyone have any other ideals?

If you are referring to the black coated one that came with my large 7 years ago, I have a few chips and besides some rust never give it a thought.

that coating was history on my small and large eggs within one year! I don't recall ever having a food problem with it though as I assume it just popped off in hot fires. The coating is still intact on my medium (baking egg) though which doesn't get high temps or as frequent use. Either way I wouldn't worry about it.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I wouldn't worry about it too much either. I would recommend upgrading to the cast iron grid though. I like it much better.

I looked into that before; I guess the xl has half moon sizes because of the weight. I had CI on my double barrel and really liked them.

Keep cooking on it. It will turn black eventually and you will not know.
