I'm going on my annual New Mexico mountain camping trip next week. At this point it looks like I'll be going solo, as my Son-in-Law may not be able to make it.

At any rate, I was about to purchase a monopod to help me steady my senior citizen camera aim, when I came upon an internet post about making your own. I decided to take it to another level.

I had an old walking stick that I'd gotten in Big Bend about 13 years ago. It was made out of Sotol. I went to Home Depot this afternoon and bought a cheap, swivel shower head and a couple of 1/4 inch bolts.

As you can see, I modified the head and epoxied the bolt into it. Then the head into the stick.....the bolt into the camera...... It works great! Swivels and everything!
Man, I'm cheap! Maybe primitive is best.
Mike
