Lunch on the mini

Fired up the mini today for lunch. Baked a potato, and threw on a hunk of already cooked ribs, leftover from Qbabes weekend cook. Wrapped everything up in foil, cooked the tater for about an hour and the ribs for about 1/2 hour. Topped them off with some Happy Pappy. Man was that good!

<p />Mr. Hyde,[p]Did you raise your grid on your mini or are you cooking as is? You may be able to tell the difference in this picture. I thought the food was too close to the fire and cooked kind of hot. YB turned me on to this idea.[p]Sounds like a great meal NTL.[p]Mick

MickeyT,[p]What did you use to raise the gril surface?

  • MickeyT,[p]No raised grid, just the stock mini. I was at work, so I also didn't have the daisy wheel from the small that we use with the mini when we cook at home. I did have the rain cap that I kind of tilted across the top to restrict airflow, to keep the temp down.[p]I was thinking about getting a second grid, so that I can raise it with some fire bricks, but I don't have one yet.[p]Larry[p]
