Dead platesetter :(

So, apparently my platesetter broke after a cook. I don't get it, the temp was not high, about 400*. Split right in half. Apparently there is no fix for this. Don't have the heart to post a pic.

Bought it about six-eight weeks ago, used it 15-20 times. Any warranty on this thing?

It should be covered by warranty but you could use JB weld to get you by until you get another. It shouldnt have broke at 400. Mine have seen 600 before and no problems.

im sure there must be a warranty on it. Call your dealer and ask them!

I have no idea if it is covered by warranty. My guess is it is covered if it breaks due to heat as in your case, and not from being dropped. If it is not covered you can repair it. Some have JB welded it, but after a while it comes apart again. I believe if you JB weld it and also ran a piece or two of small angle iron perpendicular to the break, it may hold up.

One of the legs broke on mine at about 6 months and my dealer replaced it after talking to the distributor.

I broke one of the legs off mine about 2 years ago...mixed up the JB weld, and it's been fine ever since.. Talk to your dealer first, if no help, try the weld. May not hold up because the split is down the middle, but beats buying a new one :pinch:

I feel your pain. I was worried about that too which is why I did an Adj. Rig. Instead. Recommended highly! (no affiliation)
