overdone burgers

fourth cook did burgers. I used the instructions on the disc that comes with the eggs. 2 min per side at 650 then dampers closed and 3 min more. Wound up with internals of 195 to 210. I need a better cook plan. help please.

I cook my burgers direct at about 400 for 15 minutes, 8 and 7 per side. I make some pretty large, and thick burgers though. They're probably 1/2 lb -ish precooked weight. I'm shooting for medium doneness.

cook at 400 degrees with direct heat I think 7 minutes per side..Should have burgers in the 160's range...But that just depends on how thick etc....650 temp is searing temp...you need to do a few cooks in the 275-400 range before you reach temps that high...Hard on a new gasket...

I do half pound patties about 2 inches thick. I'm at 500 for about 4 to 5 minutes per side. Usually turn out med. If you're cooking thin patties you better be quick at 600.

I have no clue who or why that recipe made it into that booklet. Every one that cooks them that way gets super well done burgers. I always do mine at 375 with very small piece of pecan. Use a thermometer for temp.
