Falling asleep at the keyboard is never good. You need to go to OKC next year and do IEC to qualify for the 2011.

Funny you bring that up...why does it have to be OKC? Why not Atlanta, and such?

OKC had the first IEC and they will take the first 5 winners for the Ultimate.

OKC was very smart! If the BGE was smart, they would have a challenge at EVERY fest.....They have a great product (BGE), but they seem to miss SOOO many opportunities to publicize. I guess you'll have to expect me at OKC next season! :woohoo: I got to make an attempt! :laugh:

They have a great fest. You are ready but it was the fastest 30 minutes of my life. And really don't want to do it again. But if so I must.

Hey Guys! I'm planning the AZ Eggfest and am curious about how the Iron Chef was done. I'm trying to make sure our 2nd is better than our 1st.
By the way, I'm up because I spent too much time catching up on sleep yesterday. -
Az...I have only been to the Ocala fest...we will have to wait for Carwash for additional IEC info. I can give you suggestions, though...I think there should be a BGE sanctioned event at every fest. We had two comps, that I know of, at Ocala. But, they were just for bragging rights, and there was no official judging. It was all in fun, and it was great! But something more 'official' would be a blast!! :laugh:

Little Chef, I agree. I remember back in culinary school we would have market basket competitions and they were always a blast. It's amazing what different things people can do with the same or similar ingredients.

Az...totally agreed. Hidden ingredients to ALL....lol! It is absolutely no joke, a tough hour or so, but puts all on a fair playing field. Where did you go to culinary school?

Little Chef, I went to Scottsdale Culinary Back in 95 and 96. One of the best and worst decisions I've made is leaving the restaurant world behind. The desire to get back in it is pulling at me but I need to figure out how to keep a somewhat normal life.
