I bought a kroger Brand corned Beef Brisket flat, between 3-3.5 lbs,soaking now for a sunday cook, I don't have pecan wood, what other smokewood you recommend?? going to try the preasure finish.tia

If you are doing pastrami hickory or red oak will work.

I most always fall back to cherry, then apple or a mix.
However, this being beef, CW's suggestion is also a good choice.
I haven't tried korger corned beef so I am not sure how salty that will come out. For that weight seems like a long soak if you are cooking on Sunday. The longer soak won't hurt anything either. Don't forget to change out the water during that time.
Sounds like you are going to have some good eats for Sunday.
