<p />When you got a brisket in the middle of the plateau, and the rain gods are not being nice on the 4th of July . . .[p]. . . that 5 bucks you spent on the rain vent at Home Depot comes in real nicely. It fits perfectly snug on the daisy wheel so that the wind doesn't blow it off. And I've lost count how many times I've had to use it. [p]

DavidR,[p]Too funny. I'm baking some potatoes in the mini at the moment, and have the "rain cap" on during the downpour here in Duluth.[p]I took a picture and will post later.[p]Puj

DavidR, Heat index 110 and no breeze. 5 hour brisket coming along nicely with babybacks right on target.
We could use rain after this weekend.[p]CWM

    DavidR,
I don't want to sound like OSHA looking over your shoulder, but a warning to any newbies who buy the vent - those can get incredibly hot so remember that safety tip.
I once lifted mine off with a tool and placed it on my deck railing only to have it brand the wood!
