Talk about a name from the past.... How have you been doing? You were at the very first Texas Eggfest in Temple, Texas and we're hoping you show for the next one in Austin at The Oasis.
Welcome back.

I have to agree with your Hummers, that would be a bad day for me!
I used to do volunteer work at a bird banding station and a Hummer in a mist net was always a major challenge, they are so tinny and have a strange design to them. They are related to the Kingfishers, of all things. If you could see their entire leg they have very short upper leg and a long lower leg and perch very much like a Kingfisher. This also makes them very tricky to untangle from a mist net.
I would have a feeder for them here but I already have Mockingbirds that nest out side my door. The Mockers and Hummers are both territorial and I don't know how they would get along. I have watched Hummers adopt a favorite perch and they will chase away any one else that tries to use it. For their size they can be aggressive little devils, like a little dog that thinks it is the big dog on the block.

Oh my goodness, it is great to hear from you. We talk about you all the time and wonder what you are doing - now we know....congratulations on your upcoming marriage.
We won't be able to see you in Atlanta, and I see where May 9th is a little busy, but PLEASE try to make it to Oklahoma on April 18th. The whole "old gang" group is going to be there and it would be great if you could join us...
