Pizza with the kids (bunch o' pics)

After nearly ten years of egging damn near everything, I'm still a mediocre pizza newbie. Tried it again with the kids today. Simple cheese and cheese and pepperoni for them. Leftover ribeye, zucchini, red onion and some pepperoni for mom and dad. We used publix dough. Decent results. Mainly, I didn't burn the crust. The crust rose/thickened during the cook, which I wasn't expecting. Guess I need to work on my dough handling skills, among other things. Here's the story in pictures.

Looks pretty good from here I like the Publix dough, but ya really gotta get it thin.I did the same thing(the first time)and the crust was way to thick for me.BTW Great lookin helpers you got there

Now that's the best of all worlds.
Eggs, kids and making some great looking pizza.
Looks like you could make some great garlic sticks/bread with that dough.

Great pics !! I'm sure they had a blast.
My daughter is really starting to enjoy cooking with me as well. Last week we made some pizza on the BGE. She loves doing all the prep work. This was her own creation without any assistance from me except cooking it.

Doug, How'd you thin it out, roll it? I sure don't have the skill to throw it up in the air and spin it.

Thanks, GG.

Thanks, JL. It was a fun lunch.

Dave, it's fun and it takes up a good chunk of time too. You can even have the kids hand grate the cheese.

That's eggsactly what I did.I can't toss pizza dough either,so I roll it out as this as I can.I'm gonna try some different dough though and see how it comes out I'll let ya know

Sure looks good. Glad to see the kids getting involved. Future eggers for sure.
I use the Publix dough a lot and the biggest key for me is letting it sit our for a few hours before working. Makes it easier to get it thinner. -
Beautiful lookin' young'uns. Good lookin Za's too!

We are into the basics here. Not only will they get to shred cheese but they will likely help grandma make the dough from scratch as she usually does. That will mean lots flour all over but big smiles and lots of fun for them.
