3M Super 77 is what I've seen used by Eggers with gasket problems...I think Home Depot has it.

Spray the 3M 77 into a jar or cup you are going to throw away and then apply it with a throw away brush. That way you won't get overspray all over your egg that will pick up any dust, etc. It's available at any hardware store.

Elmers works fine for a small area,if you're doing the whole gasket use 777.

I use Permatex Hi-Temp silicon - available at any auto parts store.

can the glue be used in cold weather? My gasket came loose yesterday.

Check the temperature range on the packaging.

I too have used the Permatex Hi-Temp silicon also. I was cooking skirt steaks the other day at 650* and the gasket failed again. I think my error was not removing the original double sided tape from the gasket before I re-glued it in place. I think this tape is the culprit to all the problems with gaskets and wonder if anything will stick to it at high temps.

Take the felt gasket off and buy a nomex replacement. This would be a long term fix not temporary.
