We were wondering what everyones New years Day traditions are?
We normally have pork roast w/ sourkrout and mash potatoes
black eyed peas w/ corn bread.
And we put a dollar bill wrapped in a lettus leaf in our wallet or pocket just for the day.
we also just learned of washing your hands with a quarter throughout the day for prosperity w/soap

WHAT!!! No cabbage or collard greens? That's the 'money' stuff of the meal LOL...
Wondering where you've been. You gonna make it to Austin in April? You know it will be bigger, better and more gooder than last year's Texas Eggfest, and that was a good one.
Hoping your new year is a good one. If not, you can always go back. At least I think you can. Or is it 'throw back?'

What is so funny is it was just this morning I was checking the names and wondering where you were. You need to check in with us more often. Look forward to seeing you both in Austin. Sure hope it is cooler this year.

My family is from eastern europe. We have Sarma, which is a meatloaf like mixture wraped in sour cabbage leaves. Kielbasa from a old school sausage shop, very different from the store bought, and a cured, smoked ham butt. Put in a large casserole, cover with kraut and bake. Boiled red potatoes with butter and parsley.
And we drink Sljivovica. Can't forget the Sljivovica. -
Always fire, football, peas and greens,
Today flat iron steak, son has (informal) basketball practice, possibly a cigar and I may go by the store to get ahead for the weekend (just get out of the house).

Thanks Rod. Thank goodness for Ketorolac and Hydrocodone. Tried to skip a dose and it was the wrong thing to do. Hopefully I'll be somewhat normal by Monday.
Hope your wife is doing well, and happy new year to you and your family. -
Black eyed Peas, cornbread, rice and some type of pork. And Lots of football. Breaking tradition today by having red beans and rice but I did pick up a can of black eyed peas so I could have that spoonful for good luck.
