Well!! finally a sad picture from you! :( I can't help you with that. so far, knock on wood, we have not had to deal with it on any of ours . like I said Knock on wood!
  • hmm .. . looks like a tough problem. .. suggest you box it up and send it to me here in virginia. .. i'll work on it for you, then test it out to make sure it works OK. ...i'll give it back to you next time i see you, say in may in waldorf or next october in atlanta ... yeah, that sounds fair!! :woohoo:

otherwise, call the mothership for a new gasket kit. . ..

Looks as though the adhesive failed. I'll be curious to hear how you make out as I bought one a while back and have yet to use it.

You'll get Max all excited.. Someone actually wanting his Pajamas...

Seems a shame to buy glue for that little of an area, but I would think the 3M Super 77 would work for you.

Try the hi temp silicon. Not the stuff Bubba cooks with :ermm:

    Any particular brand Pat??
  • should be in your kid's school backback. every place has elmer's up here.

elmer's is edible. at least that's what school kids think :P

some people use rtv silicone auto sealant as gasket adhesive.

I think Fidel uses it but don't know the name brand just that it's rated 600 plus. If not the big box store try automotive supply.

Don't know.. All I could find was for a White Glue and lots of warnings about it being the Glue of choice for Latin American Glue Sniffers..

Soooo why do you have it??? :woohoo:
  • Same thing happened to my Mini on the first cook. I removed the top gasket and continued using it. It works just fine.

   ..Good to know.....probably it's because we latins bond together so well ..
BTW got your achiote paste...will send it to you from Texas around the 20th.

Now.......I was tempted to do just the same.... Great!!!
  • Celtic wolf is right 3M super 77 works great. The mother ship suggested it when I had to replace mine a year ago.
  • BeliBeli Posts: 10,751
Hope is not the one they use
  • Celtic WolfCeltic Wolf Posts: 9,773

Oh...I know it's The one with the funny rubber top...
  • Looks like your mini's gasket was part of the 'bad adhesive' run.

If you have Lowes & Home Depot there or somewhere that carries art supplies pick up some 3M Super 77.

The manual and replacement kits say you can use Elmers or any household glue.

An automotive parts store will/should have hi-temp silicone to repair or replace gaskets.

I am not sure how often you go to TX, however, if you can't find anything down there there someone this side can ship something to you. USPS won't allow the 3M 77 but most of the other stuff will be allowed.

a can of 3m 77 for $7 at Home Depot or Office will find yourself using it for other things as well. This looks like a clean release, should go back on easily.
