Got the egg loaded up with lump and a starter cube. Picking up 3 8lb. butts on the way home to do an all nighter.(when I was younger an all nighter meant something else) Going to use the number 3 ring instead of the usual number 2 due to the colder weather. We are having a New Years Eve party at church and I am going to impress them with my pulled pork. They have already had the pork tenderloin from the egg and were quite impressed. Hope everyone has a good New Years. Dont forget the black-eyed peas on New Years Day to make sure you have a prosporous 2003. Pigtail

    Pigtail,
I take it the #2 or #3 must give you about 250° - 275° dome temperature with the temp rings? My check is in the mail so I can sleep better during the overnighters.
How far open do you leave the bottom damper when using the #2 or 3?
    Thanks,
    Terry

    MrCoffee,
Leave the bottom vent open all the way. #2 will give me about 225-230 but with the cooler weather I will opt for the #3. I really like them and I think you will be well pleased with them. They take the guess work out of doing an all nighter. Good luck with them. Pigtail

    Pigtail,
Thanks for the information and that is exactly what I wanted to hear. The rings sound like a real winner and I can hardly wait for them to arrive. First up will be a couple of butts and a brisket if I can find one with fat and without the corned beef salt. Did I mention salt? Never had a piece of meat so salty![p]Terry
