what is best remote thermometer to get.

  • I really like the Maverick ET-73. (not the ET-7)

There was a post last week where one can be picked up for $37. Retail about $50 or $60 I think.

{edit} a little more info about the ET-73. Pit and meat probes, remote reading, food and pit alarms. Timer functions, illuminated. For the price it is a great value.

  • I use a cheap ($18) Sunbeam with a Thermapen for backup. It has worked flawlessly for about a year. However I don't have any remote feature. :(
  • I have the Maverick ET-73 and have had no problems as of this time. Browse the internet and you may find it for $35-50. Retail around $49.
  • ET-73 #36.97.

Not sure what these folks charge for S&H but if it is high then there are other sites that have these for about the same price.
