I frequently purchase butts on sale for around $1 per pound. Starting this spring the butt prices went up to $1.85 per pound. :( The local grocery store (Hy Vee) just had a sale at $0.99 per pound. 17 pounds of butt will hit my medium egg tonight for tomorrow's meal.
Nothing better then a nice butt that can be purchased inexpensively!

Our average price in St. Louie is around $1.70-1.90 a pound, though there are specials for less.
