The daisy wheel on my new mini will not fit on the top of my egg. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't want to force it on there and risk damaging my egg. Please help me if you have any ideas for me. Thank you

As in it is too small in diameter?
Look inside the daisy - there are some metal ribs Are those preventing it from fitting properly?
If so, they are easy to grind down a bit. -
I had to grind mine down too. -RP

me too grind the ribs down till the inside of the top of the dmft rests on the top of the chimney

Hmmmm,
I have an older mini and when they came out with the daisy wheel for it I had to put gasket material around the neck of the dome so it would not be so loose.
Good Luck,
Bordello -
I got my mini about a month ago, however, I learned it is old dealer stock and about 1 to 2 years old.
My DFMT is way loose, I am going to have to use gasket material, probably 2 layers to size it down.

What are you cooking on the mini that requires that much temp control?

Hi Bill, will a dremel tool work for this? My Mini just got dropped off by fedex and it is in its new home.
First thing I did was try out the Daisy Wheel. Wow, that sure is mis calc by the Mothership. SS draft door will need some attention too.SEE YOU IN FLORIDA, March 14th and 15th 2014 http://www.sunshinestateeggfest.com You must master temp, smoke, and time to achive moisture, taste, and texture! Swap it with someone who has a tight one?

The DFMT has a lose fit, I don't want it falling off, hiting the cement, breaking and having to fix or by another.

That was the same problem I was having, the wrap of gasket material did the trick. Hope it works for you also.
Regards,
Bordello -
Thanks,
That is what I did also.
I have also put gasket around all my ceramic caps. Quicker shut down too.
