Has anyone tried the new Kingsford Charwood Lump Charcoal yet? I was at K-Roger yesterday and picked up a couple of bags for this weekend. I got to use the BGE at my son's B-Day Party.

I read the new review on the Naked Whiz site. It did look very promising. There bag has been updated.

The last Kingsford I had burned like throwing sparklers into a fire. I used it on low and slow indirect cooks where it worked O.K.

The Kroger brand itself is good and cheaper. I think it is made by Royal Oak.
  • Works fine for me, I am on my third bag. very little sparking, seems to burn slow. I have more left over to reuse than I remember having before and ....well.....i always have alot of ash from cooking nearaly everynight on the thing. Hope that helps.
  • Yes, I used it yesterday. It worked great. No problems. NO sparking. I guess I will use it until something changes.
