Got my new Q2 last thursday, did a long cook for the fourth. I love it. I was doing a cook last night and could not get it to SCAN the pit / food temp. Anybody had this problem. It worked fine on the first cook.

My pit probe was bad out of the box - perhaps one of your probes is also bad. Did you try the individual probes?
I just hung up with Bob at the DigiQ mothership - he was great - he talked me through troubleshooting and is taking great care of me. I suggest you give him a call - I bet he can answer your question right away.
Good luck - I can't wait to use my DigiQ -
Both probes work fine. I just can't get the Q2 to scan both probes at once.
-
check the instructions or on the back of the q2.
There is something that shows the button sequence. If that doesn't work then call the Guru folks.
GG -
Yea, the seqeunce is down arrow plus pit button. I did that on the first cook and it worked fine, but could not get it to work last night.

where di you guys get your II from? Did you order the stock package or get the fan upgrade?Bone Daddy's Competition BBQ & Catering
-
I got my unit directly from the BBQGuru folks
As for the scan between the pit and food team, HOLD down the Food button and the down arrow at the same time for a couple of seconds. Release and it should scan. -
I ordered mine from THEBBQGURU direct. I have a Large BGE so I got the 10 cfm fan.
-
Smokin-AJs, The instructions on the back say to hold the down and pit buttons. However I tried the food and down also, still would not scan. I feel sure I have got something not right. It says to unplug to reset, so I unplug the pit probe, no go. I unplugged the power supply, no go. I unplugged both probes, no go. So I unplugged the cook lights and went to bed.

I ordered mine straight from BBQ Guru. I ordered a package that included the 10cfm Pit Viper and everything else needed to use with the large BGE.
$243.......plus shipping. -
How about the 25cfm...isn't bigger better :-)Bone Daddy's Competition BBQ & Catering
-
No, no, no... 10 cfm is big enough for the large and down. Never used the XL but I would think the 10 cfm will do there too.
25 cfm would be for drum cookers and such, I would think.

Got mine direct, though if I had problems I would deal with them direct.
Talked with Fred Sr. and he advised me to get the Viper fan (10 cfm) so I did.
I got one of the first releases, there were no kits back then and only a few color choices.

They are great to deal with direct. Called twice - got Fred, Jr. once who transferred me to Bob - got Bob the other time. Wish everyone had that level of customer service.
-
try the pit and up buttons together and see if that works "P' "U"
-
Now thats funny, I don't care who you are....
-
I completly agree - great folks over there.

Git r dun.........
 -
I see there are a lot of responses to your question however they all seem to be off the mark by just a little.
The way to get into the scan mode is by pushing the up and pit buttons at the same time. You may need to hold them for just a second. If that doesn't work please feel free to give me a call.

Unplug everything.
Put the pit probe in first
Then the food probe
Then the fan
Then the power it up
Set the food temp
set the pit temp
Hold the up arrow and the food temp at the same time and release. Try this it should work. -
