I want to cook about an 8-10lb prime rib this weekend. What temp, what method (indirect or direct) and for how long should I cook it? Thanks.

I've tasted Max's rib roast and it was incredible. -RP

Gandy Dancer the playingwithfireandsmoke version is similar to the Cooks Illustrated version that I have been using for at least 10 years. Although I like to cook just a as close to 210 as I can get, then figure on 3 1/5 hours for a 7 to 8 lbs roast. Going to do my first on the Egg for fathers day. I'll post some pictures.

I did my first prime rib Mothers day. I couldn't decide between Mad Max and low and slow. I went low and slow. 13 lbs at 225 grate for 6 1/2 hours and this was the result
It was outstanding.
