A new "Eggcessory"

I have had some of these for years for use when camping with dutch ovens. They are designed for keeping the lids stationary and off the ground while working in your oven. Recently I realized how well they should also work with a hot platesetter. So yesterday I picked up another. I got them at the Lodge outlet store in South Pittsburgh, TN.[p]Folded for storage[p][p]Opened for use[p][p]In use[p][p]Hope someone finds this as usefull as I did.

I doubt you could use it as a grabber. I use Orca's for that.

What is {are} Orcas? I've been wanting to build a tool to lift the plate setter and am contemplating something like modified ice tongs.

Orca's are silicone oven mitts. good for up to 500F and go in the dishwasher to be cleaned when they get full of grease. Downside is they limit your dexterity, so they take some time to get used to to handle grabbing smaller stuff.

Orcas are silicone gloves. I got mine for approx. $8.00 each at Bed Bath & Beyond using one of their coupons. I like them.
