Just received the Lg BGE as a gift. Are there any of the accessories which you all would say are a must-have?

Jason,
you have to have the platesetter, and a big table 'cause all your friend and relatives will want to come over for dinner........

Jason,[p]Running shoes and lots of room for unexpected dinner guests.[p]Ed

Jason,
I second the plate setter. Have had my medium Egg for about 3 months and cook at least 3x a week and 4 out of 5 times I use the plate setter for indirect heating. Also a wireless thermometer is REAL NICE TO HAVE!! You can keep track of your meat temp w/o having to open the Egg which lets heat and moisture out. Something that you don't want. Enjoy the Egg and get involved with the forum.

Jason,
imho a thermopen should be your first purchase.

Jason,[p]Along with the platesetter pick up 16" pizza stone. Cooks pizza better then any pizza joint. True brick oven pizza. Check Naked Whiz for set up and suggestions.[p]Dennis

Jason,
I my opinion you already have the greatest accessory for the egg.[p]You found it here. The moral support and suggestions by your fellow eggheads. [p]Thanks to all the eggheads that have me and countless others with our questions.[p]Mike "Very grateful" in Abita

Mike in Abita,
Last line should have read:[p]Thanks to all the eggheads that have helped me and countless others with our questions.

Jason, Looser pants. Those PJ bottom flannel ones work great. Then you don't notice the weight as much and you don't feel as guilty cooking more Julie under snow in Maine

Jason,
First thing you need is a detailed description of the egg along with a small scanned digital photo on a 3X5 index card. Keep several of these in your pocket at all times to hand out to neighbors and friends when they ask the question “I heard you got an egg.what the heck is that?” This will save you well over five hours a week in explanation. My neighbor came over to take a look when he heard, he honestly thought it was something you sit in to relax until he saw it for himself. Enjoy your egg!
