Eggtoberfest Etiquette Help
Options
My friend Steve and I will be attending Saturday and I have pre- purchased a LG demo egg. I can't wait for my first cook on Sunday. My question is: I've never had/sampled the foods that are cooked on the egg at Eggtoberfest. Is it proper for me to ask to sample things that the cooks are making or should I be asked to sample? I know this is a wierd question but I don't want to come off as some dude looking to eat free all day. Your thoughts?

TEGGER,
We cook for you to sample, that's the whole point. The tricky part is being in the right spot at the right time to get whatever it is you want. In Denver I had people taking my shrimp from my tongs as I took them off the Egg. -RP

AZRP,[p]Hey - at least yours were cooked! Last year we had more than one person grab some raw shrimp right off the table before I could cook them!! lol
-
AlaskanC,
Yeah, I thought your shrimp were a little undercooked, I just didn't want to say anything. lol -RP

I knew it was you - you thief!! lol[p]Actually I saw who did it, but I figured it wasn't my problem if they got sick!

TEGGER, "Eggtoberfest Etiquette". Now there's an oxymoron if I ever heard one. About the only rule to follow is "Do not just go up and open someone's EGG to see what's cooking." Other than that, just have fun.

TEGGER,
What's wrong with being a dude looking to eat free food all day? As long as there are appropriate beverages available I don't see a problem.
-
TEGGER,
When people walk in with forks in their shirt pockets, you should realize it is a free for all.
Get to know some cooks and maybe they will set aside something for you. The idea is to cook and let everyone enjoy.[p]

AlaskanC,
Raw shrimp will catch big fish.

TEGGER, don't be shy - come on by my egg & taste some of my Pear Cake or my unusual pizzas that i plan to make

duckegg,
Me either! Just wanted to be sure I was thinking the same as the rest of the eggers.
