duckegg,
Nice original job. One of these days, I am going to put my carpentry skills to work and make a table. And I have a nice shop to do the work in with all the power tools. Go figure. [p]Chef Jerry

duckegg,[p]beautiful work. Is the top plywood? What kind? Is that an inlay on the top?[p]It looks great!
-
schley,[p]Thanks,
That is a piece of 3/4 birch plywood with a piece of flagstone set in.
-
Jwirliwnd,
Go to it, I don't really have a workshop so you are looking at about 500 trips up and down out of the cellar.
-
The Naked Whiz,
Yeah, only one but I don't have to pick up the caps. Just empty it out when it's full every afternoon.

Smokin' Todd,
Thanks, will do!
-
duckegg,
That is beautiful, the only change I would make is to turn it so you can get to the bottle opener from the hot tub.
-
The Naked Whiz,
Yeah but look at how many bottle caps it holds! That's planning ahead.

duckegg,
a cool way to lower your egg into the hole without the risk of dropping it/crushed nuckles.... is to use ice.... preferrably blocks but bagged ice will work too.... stack bags or place blocks of ice under the hole till it's almost up to the top.... slide your egg on top of the ice .... sit back with some friends( needed to be impressed with you genius or lack of lower back strength....) and watch the ice melt and the egg will be slowly lowered into the hole with no risk... i used this method to lower a hottub into a hole which had been cut into an existing deck.... i wish i could take credit for the idea but the railroad industry routinely used this technique in the old days to lower heavy locomotives onto the wheels of trains....
