Direct cook Baby Back Ribs

I have had my egg for two weeks and have not been able to get my hands on a platesetter yet. SWMBO is wanting ribs for dinner, being that it is 3:00, it is not going to be a lo n' slo cook. I have a pizza plate, rib rack, but no grid extender. Any suggestions for setting up the egg for a quicker cook of some ribs?

Question is - how's your temp control? Put the ribs in the rack, on the grill, and "lock your dome temp" in at 220 to 250. While it's handier, you don't NEED a platesetter.[p]HTH

Smoking Jacket,[p] IMHO you don't want to rush ribs. Even if you do these direct don't rush them..

I have done a lot of direct heat ribs. I like to get them as high as possible. Watch them fairly close to prevent burning. [p]Toy Man

Toy Man,[p]My wife wanted some ribs one day and I didn't have the time for low and slow...[p]I took some ribs out covered them with her favorite rub and
put them on the egg at 250+ and let them cook that way for an hour...then I wrapped wrapped them in foil and poked a few holes in the top of the foil to let some of the steam out. Put them back on the egg at 300 deg...for an hour.[p]Then I took them out of the foil and cooked them at 280 deg for a little while till I could to the toothpick test..[p]My wife like them a lot...They were good not my best but in a pinch..they work.[p]

Ii't a little late for your supper, but for indirect without a platesetter, put a baking sheet on the grid and a second grid on top of the baking sheet.
