New Band Clearance Question

Options
Renovating my current table and I am still using the old style band assy.  How much clearance is required between the top of the table to the sealing surface of the base?  Meaning the surface that holds the lower gasket.  Does the new style require additional clearance in comparison to the old style?

Thanks
The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.
Holding the company together with three spreadsheets and two cans connected by a long piece of string.

If it helps, the cutout for my old hinge accommodated the new clearance of the top due to the new bands.
