Wireless thermometer

Was wanting to get a wireless thermometer. Would like one that would have 2 probes. One for the dome temp and one for the meat temp. I already have a thermopen to check the final meat temp. Just wanted something so I could see what's going on without stopping what I'm working on. I looked in the search but the newest discussion I saw was a few years old so with the way technology changes I thought there may be something newer and better out there. Thanks.

^^^^ thisI bought this at the same time as my egg. Absolutely worth it. The range on the little handset is pretty decent too. Its definitely been worth the money from my perspectiveNC - LBGE

What they said!

Between the thermapen and the Smoke setup, you'll be good for 99% of your cooks.

FireBoard. Well made, versatile and expandable. At least check it out before pulling the trigger.Concord, CA

I like my Thermoworks Smoke also.

Got the smoke for Christmas. It’s 👌.

For those with the Smoke, did you also get the wireless bridge?

It allows you to track the cook on your smart phone or device. There’s a sale now so wondering if it’s worth it.

Yes. Wondering if it’s worth getting. Not sure how often I would leave the house during a cook but seems like if would be helpful
if you had to run errands. -
I will leave during my longer cooks for sure. If the graphs are exportable or can be saved. I would definitely get one. If theres anyone out there who has one, please chime in!@Calbbqer you found what seems like a sweet deal!NC - LBGE

I do not have the gateway. I thought the Smoke itself was over the top. A gateway would be plain silly for me. Ive done many, many all nighter's on a stick burner and eggs. I just don't feel the need....
-
there is also the signals which is 4 channel vs 2 channel and is built in WiFi as well as being compatibility with the billows blower making but a full blown controller if desired.
-
Didn’t get the bridge mainly due to the negative reviews on the app.
-
$80 for the controller, and $71 for the smoke bridge? Getting close to the price of a full blown controller that includes WiFi.
-
I thought @speed51133 would chime in on thisSouth of Columbus, Ohio.

Figured I'd provide some info rather than receive it for once.
I have the gateway, it works great. Takes following the directions to setup and update periodically.
The receiver that comes with the smoke loses connectivity once I pass through my kitchen, so the App is key for me. I bought a case of Amazon to store the whole setup if anyone is interested in it. -
I don’t have the Smoke but I got the ThermoWorks Signals and Bellows for a Christmas gift. I’ve only had a chance to use it once. I did a chuck for enchiladas last week and they both worked well. You can monitor the dome temp and 3 proteins with the Signals via WiFi or Bluetooth on your phone. They both are on sale now. https://www.thermoworks.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI38ai14Lw5gIVQx6tBh2d5gijEAAYASABEgI8ePD_BwE

I just use this to get the temperature of what's cookin...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FWVWK77
I also picked up four additional probes for it since it can take up to six. Using this means once something goes on to cook/smoke, I don't touch the handle on the egg until I'm removing said item. Connects up to my phone (Android 10) easily and just works.
You can make custom temperature presets if you don't want to use the included ones. They are saved (unless you delete them) so you don't need to do that more than once.
For range of the wireless signal. I've not had any issue where I usually roam compared with where the egg sits. Through walls and floors without signal loss. Of course, I'm usually far less than the listed range limit for it (168 feet).
IMO, at the price point, it's hard to go wrong with it.Large BGE with CGS Woo Ring, stone with stainless pan, Smokeware chimney cap, Kick Ash basket and Kick Ash can.Living free in the 603 (Pelham). -

Try the MEATER wireless probe, it is a dual temp rechargeable, probe with ambient grill temp on the END of the probe and food temp on the other end. Connects to the cloud. I use it on the rotisserie and LOVE it. I have an MK4 and others.

The only downside for me is that I recently had to call Thermoworks after they pushed a firmware update to the Gateway and I couldn't connect to WiFi. They patiently walked me through the process in about 10 minutes, and the Gateway has worked flawlessly ever since. It was easily the most pleasant customer service experience that I've ever had.
