Made a Sat-Sun trip to KC and had to try Q39 offerings.
WOW what an Experience! More than than 1 person in my small extended family
has stated "this is the best place to eat in KC!
Being the curious sot that I am, I had to find out more.

We went to the Overland Park location
https://q39kc.com/menus/
I had this out of curiosity 'cause I've seen it on numerous foodie shows
crispy fries • beef brisket gravy • chopped brisket • white cheddar cheese curds • classic bbq sauce • chives
Wife, daughter & son in law had this
sliced smoked brisket • burnt ends • classic bbq sauce
We were all very happy with the Q!
This was in the entry
If ever in KC and hungry for Q, try this place, I don't think you'll be disappointed

Did you try any other places?

The original Joe's is the best KC bbq. The experience is a big part of it, but the food never disappoints. It's actually pretty amazing how much better the food at the gas station is vs. their new location.
Q39 is good, but pricey and not a real bbq experience for me.Kansas City, KansasSecond hand Medium BGE, Second hand Black Kamado Joe Classic, Second hand Weber Kettle, Second hand Weber Smokey Mountain -
Best ribs I have ever had were at Q39. Man they were good.

Went to Q39 two weekends ago while in town for the Packer/Chiefs game, all our food was excellent. The standout of it all was their "Best Wings On The Planet". Actually found their recipe and will definitely be attempting to replicate on the egg.

I went to Arthur Bryant's original location in the early 2000s, and it was pretty special. Not much to look at, but the food was outstanding.

Q39 was good, but it was a hipster BBQ in my opinion. Kind of like Jack Stacks. Friggin expensive, long wait, and not anything that was worth either.
Slaps BBQ just west of town is my favorite. Very good, reasonable prices, picnic tables with the sauces out there, plus you go through a line so you can pick exactly which cuts you want off the rack, brisket, etc.
OK Joe's in the gas station was great too. Arthur Bryants was a horrible.....but it's a say that you been there kind of place. -
"May I help you?" has never disappointed me.LBGE, LBGE-PTR, 22" Weber, Coleman 413GGreat Plains, USA

My favorite BBQ place to eat in my hometown was Gates, but I moved away back in '03 and am not familiar with the newer establishments. It was the only place I knew that served mutton ribs. So good. LC's was my favorite for brisket. I sometimes dream of that triple decker brisket sandwich. Melt in your mouth brisket. It's "Smokin Gal", not "Smoking Al".

+1 on Slaps."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Anything from Slaps, a Z-Man from Joes, then Q39. Q39 is good and would be the best BBQ in any other town in America. They just happen to have a different offering and presentation than some of the others.

Our best friends live in Overland Park, so we are used to eating KC BBQ at all the normal spots. They took us to Nick & Jakes in Overland Park a while back, and that was some good food. I like the menu and atmosphere a lot.

LC’s burnt ends are unbelievable. We did a BBQ tour a couple winters ago. It was a lot of fun!
