eggaholic,
Can you school us on fatties? The why, how cooked, how eaten, etc. Are they prepacked pork sausage cooked whole instead of fried as patties?
-
-
eggaholic,
looks tasty![p]next time i smoke fatties, i'll put them perpendicular to the grid i think. maybe diagonal. that first one of yours up there kinda melted into the grid, eh? was it stuck?

Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
Rick's Tropical Delight,
They came out Ok no leaks, but i was wondering if they need a sear first, but the more support is a plus.
-
thirdeye,
Good setup. I didn't have any leaks but came close. They sure do taste goooood.
-
thirdeye,
thanks mon. i'd have figured it out eventually. although i kinda liked the pattern it made on every slice it's not worth tearing it up trying to turn or remove.[p]the main reason i put my first ones parallel with the grid was because the egg wasn't level in my crappy driveway and i didn't want them to roll off. why not just rotate the grid you ask? it's all about the photo angles![p]i've got 6 tubes in the fridge waiting to be transformed into pure smoked sausage heaven this weekend.

Perpindicular to the grid is nice b/c it gives you good, uniform marks to measure the cut of each patty...
-
Rick's Tropical Delight,
Maybe strips of bacon in the grid marks (more pork the better kicking it up).
-
Rick's Tropical Delight,
Now you guys tell me!! I just made my own out of round roast and boston butt with my new hand crank grinder. Now I'm worried about it falling apart when I remove it!

ronbeaux,
even if it does fall apart, it's gonna tast yummy.
-
hey, yours is perpendicular.[p]mine made for some cool grease canals after i flipped em.[p]they gave up a pretty good amount of grease in the drip pan too.
-
Rick's Tropical Delight,
It came out all right after all.
