First game-Here's to Clemson truly routing Notre Dame.  Should not be as close as the spread.
Second- This one is a challenge for me to sort out-I want Tide to roll but the Oklahoma offense (yes Alabama has the defense) is what puts the O/U at 77 points.   If Alabama is on it could be one-sded.  If Oklahoma can move the ball, their chance is in a close finish.
BTW- in keeping with the forum decorum, Walkerswood Hot Jerk wings at some point in the festivities.
Others?
Edit: did not get a chance to select the residence of this post.

  • Clemson and Bama are heavy favorites, but hoping for some good/close games to keep it interesting. Wings and Onion rings in my future tomorrow

I think both of the dogs are going to play better than the experts think.  Would not shock me if both Oklahoma and Notre Dame won outright.

I hope not. I bet 500 on Clemson and 2 grand on the Tide.

@SGH -  At that level you must have friends in high places.  Based on your 2018 spend I believe you have gone clean thru Ron's money and are now working on your own.   All that off-shore time definitely has the upside once ashore.
Guess the island buy will be in 2019.

How many points did you have to give on Bama to make the bet even worth it?

Here are the lines for the games:

    The point spreads

    • Orange Bowl: Alabama -14
    • Cotton Bowl: Clemson -12.5
These spreads both vary slightly across sportsbooks. You can see a full array at Odds Shark, but those are the most common numbers for the two games.

I placed the bet last week. At the time I had to give 14.5 on Bama and 13 on Clemson.

No sir. I’m betting with money that I have won so far this year. I usually try to bet on what I call “sure things”. You don’t make much but it adds up over the months. Most of my bets have been small but added up over time.
I have did pretty good betting on the UFC fights. I’m running at about 85% picking them. Picking college football I’m around 70% give or take a little either way. In pro ball I’m about 50/50.
With that said, I’m betting with money I have won over time. No way would I risk my own money in one shot like that. Looking back, I wish I would of only bet 500. However if Bama covers, then I will be wishing that I would of bet the farm =)

Smarter words have never been typed here, Scottie.  As for myself, I *only* bet on sure things.  I don’t know why more people don’t think to do that.

Since there's no such thing as a "sure thing" bet, @JohnInCarolina, is the presumption you don't bet on anything?

Well... I once bet a man on a football game involving the Eagles and I’ve been regretting that for some time now.  In fact I still need to pay up for that one.

While it’s true that there is no 100% sure thing, there are some that are pretty close short of extreme point spreads. A few examples:
Alabama vs Vanderbilt. Almost as sure as it gets.
Florida vs Michigan. Pretty darn sure thing.
Auburn vs Purdue. About as sure as it gets.
If you bet on games like this, you just about can’t lose short of a miracle or disaster.

I do not care for the quad split screens.  It may just take some getting used to.

Exactly what I expected out of ND and fully expect Sooners to follow suit. Dawgs loss to LSU really came back to haunt a team that talent wise should be playing for all the marbles. Just shows why you can't make a misstep in the SEC.
