auto-lock hinge

Hi All,
Hoping to buy my egg tomorrow, having trouble deciding between the small, medium or large. I noticed the medium and large come with the auto-lock hinge but the small does not. Is that because the small does not need it??? Any help is highly appreciated.

    If $ are not a consideration then go for the large and at a later date get the small to compliment it. Auto lock is nice as it keeps the heavy lid from accidentally coming down. OUCH!!!

    New Bob, hello newbob, get the large if you can. It can do everything you want to do on any of the eggs. The small uses less lump, but the dome doesn't open up nearly as far. I find this is a pain when trying to dump new lump in from a 20# bag of charcoal, and when inserting any kind of large object like a turkey breast in a drip pan inside the opening. There are ways to work around this for sure, but if you can afford it, get the large, it will do everything, and later get a small. JMO.
