Sequoia Grove is good stuff, no doubt. Napa used to be the best wine in the state, and is still as good, but I find it to be a bit overpriced. As one of the many TV wine gurus said, the word Napa on a bottle add $20 to the price. Luckily for me, there are so many boutique wineries in the Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties, I can drink for years without driving more than an hour in most any direction, and meet the winemaker while I sample.

And to get back to the point, that meal looked spectacular!
XL BGE in San Jose, CA. Also a Pit Barrel Cooker, a Cal Flame P4 gasser, and lots of toys including the first ever Flame Boss 300 in the wild. And a new Flame Boss 500.

I think even better than your awesome food is the experience of the guests hanging through it all with you cats.
That is why we serve wine. A lot of wine....

Came out better than I had thought, pulled at 135 IT and let sit for about an hour, was going to go back for the sear, but a rainstorm blew in. It was medium well on the ends, and medium rare in the middle. The Gun Powder rub was excellent.

There is great wine everywhere these days. If you have not been to Lodi, you need to go. Absolutely great wine is being made there.

You are fortunate to have the selection of wineries at your choosing. Our last trip ended in Napa/Sonoma, to pick up some special labels to bring home. We started out in Oregon, in the Willamette Valley, then started heading south. The Pinot Noirs, did not make it past the Oregon/California state line.

The Buena Vista, 2015 was the clear winner on the evening.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I was looking forward to this cook. After dining at some of the places on our vacation, it made me want to cook a decent meal. It was pretty good, everyone enjoyed it.
I actually ate some Kale. I did not die or go into involuntary convulsions either. Amazing.
