Tenderloin and stuffed mushrooms with friends

Prepped a tenderloin to roast, used a rub called Gun Powder and will smoke with pecan.
Stuffed mushrooms with chorizo, tomato, jalapeno, garlic, vidalia, shallots, cream cheese, fresh shredded aged Romano, Asiago and Parmeseano, with bourbon smoked paprika.

Will be serving some Italian whites with the mushrooms, and a big bold Napa Valley Rutherford and St Helena cabernet Franc with the beef. The Sequoia Grove in the back, is one of my faves, it will likely be uncorked as well. We will see how it goes....

Wow!  A nice night with friends awaits.  Is there anything for sale on your street?

Talk about out-kicking your coverage- recently the road-trip thru the PNW and all the wine and groceries (and whales) there but take a day off ...NFW, away they go again.  As above, the end-game will be off the charts.  Enjoy as I know you will.  Dang!
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Made a couple of non fatal mistakes....but it turned out alright...
Forgot to grease the pan for the shrooms...but it worked out better than I had thought possible. Best shrooms I have ever made.
Pulled the lion at 130F, let stand for 20Mins to allow it to stop cooking...was going to throw it on caveman prior to serving, and a freakin' frog drowning rain came through, so I served as is.....it was awesome, finished out at 143F. Close enough for me in the center.
Turned out ok.....zero leftovers except for some cheap wine brought in by my beer drinking friends.

Why yes my brother.....there are 12 in each box..
Go with me to Napa, if you do not hate me with every moral fiber in your body, you will then.
Seriously, 13 and 14 are killer vintages, but some drink now, and they will hold for 20-25 years if kept with a bot of respect.
You my friend, will see life change so much in the coming years. My advice; start collecting.
I have a couple of 07s that will be gone soon. Now is the time to buy 13-15 in Napa....

Say what you will, but, bottom line....I blame you. You warned me, I am sure, I just think your advice on having fun.....well...I will admit it, I have stretched the recoverable parameters on that exercise much farther than excess.
Your fault Frank. I am so good with it.
I had no idea life could be this fun.
My deepest and most sincere thanx, my squid brother.
You are still Navy. But, you are my friend. That is important. Thank you.

Great meal. Easy. BGE makes it happen, and everyone else. It is more about the people, and if the food hits, even better. Tonight it hit.

Everything was good tonight. Broke open a bottle, (last minute) from a client, only 20 cases made...spectacular.

There is a difference from a gifted chef and a spouse who is also gifted in the culinary arts, (y'all) and a drunk guy that puts stuff on the BGE and hopes he does not burn the shid out of everything (Me).
Thank you, it means a lot.

    Dude, I know...
They were awesome, but they were also consumed at a record rate.
Easy cook: put glob of junk on shroom, 400F for 1 hour. Dust with paprika. Killer

I think even better than your awesome food is the experience of the guests hanging through it all with you cats.
