BGE hardware quality question.

Options
is this normal for just being over 1year old, or a warranty issue?

    Wouldn't hurt talking to your dealer and see what they say. I think the band has a 5 year warranty

    I agree.  But not like it is a real issue in the long run.

    I have to agree and am not to worried about it, just some disappointed. Would expect better.....

     Do you mind posting another picture say 180 degrees from this one? Or even one 90 degrees?

    Did you assemble the egg yourself?

    no, dealer did and here’s the shot from other angle,( not a good day for pics ...nor’easter and snow happening)

    looks like the nut loosened the paint when installing the handle
    South of Columbus, Ohio.

    So I made it to my dealer today and showed him my picture of the handle w/o paint and asked it was a warranty issue and the response was no but if I brought it in to him he’d paint it for me....
    when I got home I looked up the BGE warranty and sure enough the hardware is guaranteed for 5yrs  BUT, not including any cosmetic issues..

    I wouldn’t call that a cosmetic issue. The coating failed and has head to rust development which will lead to failure.
