Fifty-six teams competed in this weekend"s KCBS contest in Salisbury, MD. Free Range BBQ finished seventh overall, and DizzyPig 12th overall. Free Range got two calls to the stage with a second in ribs and a seventh in chicken. The Big Green Egg is a mudder my friends, performing brilliantly while the rain came down in buckets for most of the weekend. [p]They had a special Purdue chicken category in addition to all the usual categories (Salisbury is the land of Purdue), and our own Mr Earl came up with a heavenly creation of tandoori chicken that I hope he will reprise at Waldorf next month. [p]The folks running the contest did a great job in the face of great challanges from Mother Nature. We look forward to kicking off the season there again next year. [p]Brett

Big congrats to you, Max and Hillard (missing from the picture). Fantastic cooking against a serious lineup! We were a bit disappointed not to get to do "the walk", but was really nice to see a half dozen or so teams using dizzy stuff getting calls to the stage (or, better worded "a 50 yard dash through the rain to the stage!"[p]Way to go guys!
