I have an old metal pan, that I took the handle off of, so that it would fit in my small.. we were camping this weekend and doing some potato pancakes, trouble is the old pan aint what it use to be. What do you use beside cast iron? Want to do things like bacon and eggs, potato pancakes, fajitas etc. What do you use??
Thanks in advance.

Can't find the picture but have a flat Lodge I cut the handle off that is 11" and works well for both the MM and on the Larges. Now on both sizes I do use the Woos.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

How did you cut off the handle, fine blade on a electric grinder?? I like that idea, simply cause of the lip on the pan. Gotta get some shut eye. Thanks for the help. Enjoy the rest of your week.Large, small, and a mini

I would use teflon for eggs, cast iron or carbon steel for everything else. Don't heat teflon past 450 regardless of your heat source.

I cut the handles off a Lodge 10" skillet. Works perfectly.

Whether it's iron or steel or aluminum, if you don't want food to stick, get it good and hot, then get your grease good and hot, then crack your eggs. I use lard for camp cooking, horrible for your arteries, but it tastes great and travels well.

BBQ is a celebration of culture in America. It is the closest thing we have to the wines and cheeses of Europe.
Drive a few hundred miles in any direction, and the experience changes dramatically.

for home and camp i use cast iron, for camping i use the cheapest supermarket 10 dollar teflon pan i can find and toss it when im done. tried one of those green pans, junk. my lodge cast iron is 10 times better for nonstick since i sanded it smooth inside
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
Haven't used it on the egg, but the best nonstick pan I have is a scanpan. http://www.scanpan.eu/
Ceramic titanium apparently. Works and holds up great.
