as some here may already know Thursday nights are late supper nights for us and is another mayo eggperiment night, though tomorrow's burgers will have a mayo crust as well FOR SURE!
Well, I assembled grilled ham and cheese sandwiches - pretty simple, huh? Unbeknownst to Pat I spread one on the outside with ICBINB - which has the green toothpick for this picture and the other two with Duke's.
I'll have to post the follow up later tonight or I promise at least in the morning!

That's the way I do grilled cheese. A lot better crust than butter.

Shows how big a dumbass I am. Never thought to supplant mayo for butter on grilled cheese. :-BSlumming it in Aiken, SC.

Well sports fans I think I got tackled and didn't make a touchdown tonight. Neither of us thought the mayo did as much for the sandwich as the ICBINB did. Maybe it was a matter of what we have grown accustomed to expecting - BUT this Duke's was on grilled bread and NOT on meat. I have been quite happy with the crust the mayo has produced directly spread on egged meat! I was hoping for a better result, but hey...at least I tried - huh?Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

When doing grilled cheese I normally lay it on pretty thick

You know I have tried the bread with mayo before, but I still like butter. Now, this maybe redneck, but I don't care. I like my grilled cheese with mayo on the inside, butter on the outside. Yeah, suck it....------------------------------

I'm with @fishlessman, gotta use the real stuff. We use the Land-O-Lakes green tub spreadable. Pretty tasty.------------------------------

I have tried the grilled cheese with mayo and kinda liked it, but can't say I liked it more than butter. It is great to know it works...in case you find yourself out of butter and have a grilled cheese craving.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
